PicoScope 7 Automotive
Available for Windows, Mac, and Linux, the next evolution of our diagnostic scope software is now available.
The automotive diagnostic videos provided here show you what you can do with your Automotive Diagnostics Kit. They are an invaluable training resource and demonstrate how PicoScope and the Automotive Diagnostics Kit can be used to find a variety of vehicle faults.
Presented by Pico Technology: Steve Smith and Frank Massey explain the theory of Noise Vibration and Harshness (NVH), defining NVH and explaining the NVH tools from Pico.
Presented by Pico Technology: Steve Smith and Frank Massey explain the theory of Noise Vibration and Harshness (NVH) and how humans differ in their interpretation of noise and vibration.
Presented by Pico Technology: Steve Smith and Frank Massey explain their approach when dealing with a customer complaint and how to set up the tools and do the tests.
Presented by Pico Technology: Steve Smith and Frank Massey discuss the road test results end how you can use the tools to analyze the different areas.
Presented by Pico Technology: Steve Smith and Frank Massey discuss typical customer complaints that require a different diagnostic approach, cue "Time Domain".
Presented by Pico Technology: Steve Smith and Frank Massey talk about using the microphone on Channel D in combination with the accelerometer. They cover the importance of where the microphone is placed and how to analyse the result.
Presented by Pico Technology: Steve Smith and Frank Massey talk about Frank's case study, the different techniques used and the results.
Taken from a series on automotive vibration analyzers. In this episode, the PicoScope NVH Analyzer for independent repair shops, tire stores, and automotive dealerships is shown in operation.
Steve Smith talks about our NVH kit and completes a 3-axis vibration measurement.
Scott Brown, President of diag.net uses the Pico NVH kit to identify a vibration in a Chevrolet S10.
In this video we use the Pico NVH Advanced diagnostic kit to locate and diagnose an offending wheel bearing on a Ford Ka.
In this video, Steve Smith investigates a knocking noise, with the help of multiple accelerometers and our NVH software.
In this video, our Automotive guru Steve Smith uses the PicoScope automotive oscilloscope and Pico's NVH kit to test wind noise and water ingress, he describes the use of the function generator in combination with our NVH record feature to find the source of potential wind noises and water leaks.
Diagnosing the source of cabin squeaks and rattles is both time consuming and costly as a result. Trying to reproduce these offending noises may involve multiple road tests with at least 1Technician and a driver, often without success! Using the Pico NVH function generator, the vehicle can be “excited” using a broad range of frequencies generated by the in-car audio system without leaving the workshop. This will leave the Technician free to pursue the source of the rattle which may not be located inside the cabin!
Steve Smith is showing how he used the function generator in the NVH software to find the cause of a vibration in his car, which had been bothering him for a long time.
